Tirzepatide is an injectable medication to improve blood sugar control. Mounjaro is injected once weekly and is meant to be used alongside a diet and exercise plan.

Tirzepatide is part of a class of drugs known as dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonists. It works by improving the release of insulin when blood sugar levels are high, suppressing the liver’s sugar production, and slowing stomach emptying to help control appetite and reduce food intake.
